Teen sells kidney for iPad and iPhone

What would you do for an iPhone and iPad?! Some people would give an arm and a leg, or in this case, a kidney.

Five people in China have been indicted for their involvement in an illegal online organ trading deal. The donor was a 17-year-old high school student.

It all came to light after the teen’s mom asked him how he got the money to buy an iPhone and iPad. He told her that he sold his kidney for $3,500.

The group facing the indictment includes a surgeon, a hospital contractor and brokers who help find the teen and other online donors.

Talk about a heck of a way to raise money for something. What ever happened to raising money the old-fashioned way — like selling lemonade!
