7-year-old with no hands wins penmanship contest

Penmanship is all about handwriting.

Annie Clark, a 7-year-old from West Mifflin, Pa., recently walked away from a penmanship contest with $10,000 and a trophy for her handwriting, but has no hands.

Annie holds the pencil between her forearms, just as she does with a fork when she eats.

Annie has 8 brothers and sisters, 4 were adopted from China and also have disabilities that affect their arms or hands.

The competition, sponsored by the Zaner – Bloser Language Arts and Reading Company, promotes legible handwriting with a category for students with special needs.

This girl is proof it can be overcome.
