You’ve already reached gangster status if you survive a bullet to the brain. How about living with it lodged in your head for 94 years? That might just make you the toughest guy on the planet.
Well, that guy was William Lawlis Pace.
At 8 years old, his brother accidentally shot him with a .22 caliber rifle.
Doctors just left the bullet where it was out of fear surgery would cause more damage.
A bad right eye didn’t stop him from living a normal life. He played sports as a kid, had a marriage that lasted 71 years, had two children and has been farming for six decades.
The sad part of this story is Pace died this week at age 103.
He’s the Guinness Book of World Records holder for living the longest with a bullet in his head.
What a story to be told.
Oh yeah, and he’s a native Texan.
