Have you heard about the burglar arrested in Germany? He’s a real Dumbo who left prints at the crime scenes… except it wasn’t finger prints he left behind… it was ear prints.
Yes, ear prints. Can’t believe your ears, huh? You’re not the only one… how did the folks at CSI not know about this? Wanna bet it’ll be in an episode soon?
The unnamed suspect… we’ll call him “Dumbo”… is a 33-year-old man from Macedonia who has a history of burglary. Hamburg police say “Dumbo” pressed his ear to the doors and windows of the cribs he cased; likely listening for occupants but undoubtedly leaving ear prints and DNA. It may sound like a rookie mistake but “Dumbo” wasn’t wet behind the ears… so to speak…he was a pro who allegedly burglarizing 96 homes of electronics, jewelry and cash valued at $650,000.
Will Dumbo hang by his ears? Probably.
Ear prints are almost as unique as fingerprints, and ear printing is an accepted forensic science.
So burglars and safe crackers might want to add earmuffs to their wardrobe because ear printing is music to ears of law enforcement everywhere.
