Experience News in a New Way
You don’t need an action movie when you can get the real thing. Yves Rossy, the “Jet-man”, is a former Swiss fighter pilot, now a commercial pilot, who developed his own toy: a jet-powered fixed wing strapped to his back. He’s a pioneer in the field and holds all the records. This time you’ll be seeing him flying over Rio de Janeiro.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Yes… he’s actually considered a plane. On May 2011 the Jet-man flew across the Grand Canyon in Arizona after the United States Federal Aviation Administration classified his flight system as an aircraft.
We’re pretty sure that after watching this video, everybody will run to their garages, grab their tools and start building some kind of flying machine. C’mon, be honest! You know you want one!
It’s not that easy to control those wings though. Rossy really knows his stuff: he’s even flown in formation with a pair of real jets.
We don’t know whether this is the future of public transportation or not, but here you have somebody who never worries about rush hour traffic.
