Dog food found to be spreading salmonella — in people

14 people around the nation are sick as a dog!

This time, however, it’s not contaminated cantaloupe or meat, it’s from dog food!

There’s been a nationwide recall and the CDC says it’s investigating a salmonella outbreak that could be in pet food distributed by Diamond Pet Foods.

Specifically, the food came from a manufacturer in South Carolina.

So, now that pet owners in nine different states have gotten sick, you may be asking yourself, how are people getting sick from salmonella in dog food?

Investigators say simple contact with your furry-friend after their doggie-dinner could help to spread the disease.

So, check your dog’s food, and if you’re feeling sick, quarantine that pooch until you know what it’s got!! Just kidding!
