Deputy orders inmates to dance for phone privileges

Who cares about having moves like Jagger? It’s having moves like Usher that’ll make a difference! At least, if you’re an inmate in Ohio’s Summit County Jail!

Those Usher moves cost one 35-year-old sheriff’s deputy his job, after an internal investigation found the deputy was ordering inmates to dance to an Usher song in exchange for privileges, like using a phone or microwave! He’s accused of ordering the inmates to dance to the song “Yeah.” He even invited colleagues to watch as one inmate did the worm another did the robot so he could call home!

One investigator said “the community needs to be assured that all inmates that come through the…jail will be treated humanely and with respect.”

So, we can force inmates to wear pink and make them shower together, but dancing crosses the line? Go figure!
