I am happy to hear Bun B’s open minded view on this matter! I have always been a fan of his and i’m pleased to see he is taking the live and let live stance. I am also of this opinion. I would not want someone telling me who i could not marry. I am a straight man, but i feel that if two men or two women love each other enough to want to marry, then who the hell is anyone else to tell them they can not. I personally do not feel one way or the other about lesbian and homosexual people. In the same way that i don’t care about anyone’s sex life or sexual orientation apart from my own. I feel that if people have a problem with same sex marriage, they probably have a problem with homosexual’s and lesbians full stop. Which to me is pathetic and small minded. Let people be who they are and love who they want to love and have sex with who they want to have sex with. As long as they are consenting adults and are not hurting anyone. Why care? If it comes to down to a set of religious beliefs, then thats what they are, beliefs and nothing to do with legislation. And if people want to argue that its sets a bad example for children. Then i say, how can celebrating the love of two people be setting a bad example, when the American, British and many other governmental around the world condone violence and killings in various war zones. Surely this is the worst example for the younger generation.

Gay is a sexual act not a personality. Straight people have sexual acts as well and that is not what makes your character. Other than that we all live life together on earth. The president just gave respect to a whole new community which gets the vote. No matter what it still boils down to politics. The goal is to win the race!!!!!! GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!

I personally had no plans, and still have no plans, to vote for Obama, as I can’t stand his foreign policy and his support for and from major corporations and banks. That being said, as a queer I really appreciate seeing someone in such a prominent position taking up this issue. I do, however, feel their are greater issues affecting the lgbtq community, as well as other minority communities. I think we could focus a little more energy towards protections for queer teens who are being bullied to death. There are also states passing legislation that makes it okay to discriminate against, or at least ignore discrimination of queers in school and in the work place. Trans people, especially trans people of color, are disproportionately targets of hate crimes, and when they fight back against their attackers are often the ones charged with a crime, not their assailants(see Ce Ce McDonald). We, as minorities- be it racial, ethnic, gender, or sexual- need to unite against the fascist, racist, misogynistic, homophobic system we live in. Along with our allies, there are more of us than there are of them.
