Experience News in a New Way
When a guy had a car accident last month in his 2012 Hyundai Elantra, he didn’t expect he would end up ear-less. But that’s practically what happened.
In the accident, the side curtain airbags deployed as expected, but instead of just providing him with a soft cushion of air to bang his head against, a sharp bracket dropped down, too. It sliced his face and cut his ear in half.
The man filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration who did not let it fall on deaf ears. They started an investigation, but so far, no recall has been issued.
Hyundai says this was a freak accident and none of the other 123,000 folks who bought the car have had similar problems. But that isn’t much consolation for the dude with the jacked-up ear.
Guess some things are just “ear” today, gone tomorrow.
