Experience News in a New Way
This story is sure to keep you awake.
We’ve all been there…elbow falling off the armrest as we fall asleep.
Even the Pope has been caught dozing off.
But it’s one thing to snooze during a boring speech and another to snooze during a 9-1-1 call.
Around 12:30 in the morning, a call came in from an apartment complex to Montgomery County, Maryland Fire and Rescue.
The dispatcher says, “Fire and ambulance.”
The caller says, “Hello? Hello?”
The dispatcher apparently nods off.
“Hold on one second, ma’am. Let me try to get them on the line again,”
A second dispatcher says as he takes over, but the sleeping one remains on the line as the caller reports her husband is unconscious.
As the woman was telling the second dispatcher that her husband was turning blue, the first dispatcher is heard snoring.
This confuses the second dispatcher who thinks it`s the woman`s husband having trouble breathing.
We counted 18 snores during the course of the 911 call.
About 5 minutes into the call, the sleeping dispatcher wakes up picking up where he left off.
Who knew 9-1-1 needed a wake-up call.
