Experience News in a New Way
The Miami zombie, the face eater, or “the cannibal” (although we’re pretty sure that last one’s copyrighted).
Chances are, you’ve already heard about 31-year-old Rudy Eugene naked on a Miami bridge, eating a homeless guy’s face.
While it makes for good TV, it’s important to remember that Rudy Eugene had a family who loved him, regardless of his hankering for a hobo-hogie. Rudy Eugene’s girlfriend is obviously hurt by the names he’s gotten since the attack.
She says, “Rudy Eugene was not no zombie or ‘Miami Zombie’ like they’re saying. He was a human being and that wasn’t him.”
His mother feels the same way. “Rudy will never, never do something like that,” Ruth Charles told a reporter about her son.
Rudy’s brother, however, seemed to be confused about what has everyone bent out of shape regarding this event. He reiterated, “The truth of the matter is my brother would never, my brother would never, be homeless.”
We think he’s missing the point. It’s more the face-munching thing that’s got people up in arms, not the idea that he was homeless. We just hope no people-eaters make their way to H-Town, and remember it’s important to help feed the homeless. Not feed on the homeless!
