Experience News in a New Way
In the annals of memorable slow-speed chases, you have O. J. Simpson’s nationally televised escape to nowhere, and now we can add Charles Gray’s ‘sllloooowww’ ride to a Walgreens parking lot on a lawn mower.
Charles was tooling down a Jackson, WI, street the other day, minding his own business, taking in the sights as you can only do from the back of a lawn chopper.
But there’s a law against such things up there, so Charles had to end his ride early.
Things probably would have gone OK if he hadn’t run into the street light. That led to a field sobriety test and a blood test, which returned a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit, even though Charles swore he only had one beer.
The 69-year-old thrill seeker won’t be slow ridin’ for a while. This was his fourth drunk driving charge, but his first on a lawn mower. Maybe they’ll cut him some slack and let him cut the grass at the jail.
