Russian billionaire throws money out the window…literally

Most of us have made a paper airplane at some time in our misspent youth. The worldlier among us may have even made paper airplanes in the Old Russian style, whatever that is. But that doesn’t matter because that was just a clever lead-in to the following story about Pavel Durov.

Now, you may not have heard of Pavel Durov, but if you’re reading this in Europe or even Russia, then you may be a member of VK, Europe’s largest social networking site with about 100 million members.

Durov is owner and CEO, which makes him the Mark Zuckerberg of Russia.

Well, even 27-year-old rich guys get bored, and if you’re Pavel Durov, you break the boredom by turning about $2,000-worth or rubles into paper airplanes and flying them out of your office window in St. Petersburg, proving that guys like him have more dollars than sense.

But, Durov is worth about a quarter of a billion dollars, so he’s got money to burn. Or in this case, money to fly.
