Experience News in a New Way
She’s the infamous Denver defacer whose crime has become the butt of jokes all around the country.
37-year-old Carmen Tisch, a longtime alcoholic, was arrested in January for vandalizing a famous painting.
The piece of art, by abstract expressionist Clyfford Still, is displayed in a museum named after still.
According to the police report, she scratched the canvas and then struck it repeatedly with her fists. She then leaned against the canvas with her pants down and urinated.
Her scratches, punches and butt rubbing caused about 10 grand worth of damage.
The painting by still is titled `1957-j number 2`
Wait, the title has the number 2 in it? They’re lucky all she did was pee on it and not take a number 2.
Tisch just had her day in court and the judge sentenced her to two years of probation, and will have to undergo mental health treatment and receive help for alcohol dependency.
She’s lucky that’s all she was sentenced… not a bum deal for her.
We do have to admit though, how much damage could she have caused to this painting?
It looks like someone dumped paint on it and walked away.
It’s definitely not the most fascinating painting… there’s no ifs ands or buts about.
