Experience News in a New Way
Shannon Cooper doesn’t have a pleasant memory of her daughter’s high school graduation.
‘I got up and I said ‘yay my baby made it. Yes!,’ she says of the moment her daughter received her diploma.
Right after that, Cooper got kicked out of the ceremony, and arrested.
She says parents were told not to cheer for their kids at the Florence, South Carolina graduation. But she thought that was dumb. So she did anyway.
In exchange for that brief whoot-whoot, Cooper spent the rest of graduation in a police van, several hours in jail, and got a $225 fine.
Oh, and a bad memory.
Maybe she “learned her lesson.”
