It’s every parent’s worst nightmare. Hearing your little girl say she’s been sexually abused. How would you react if you caught someone in the act of sexually assaulting your child? One Lavaca County man had to answer that question for himself.
A father caught a man sexually assaulting his 4-year-old daughter inside his family home over the weekend. While most of the family was outside socializing, Lavaca County Sheriffs say the father went back inside the house to find the man assaulting his little girl. That’s when he punched him in the head, until he died. The accused molester was casually acquainted with the father and helped with grooming horses on their property.
The girl was taken to a local hospital, and is alright, besides “the obvious mental trauma.” As for the dad, a grand jury will decide if they’re going to indict him but sheriffs say ‘he acted in defense of his third person,” and had the right to defend his daughter. Sheriffs say he’s ‘very remorseful.’ We’d say he reacted the way most fathers would’ve.
